Linda Hermans

photographer

I'm Linda, a London food photographer and food photography teacher. I love to work with food and beverage brands, restaurants and cafes, hotels and editorials to create beautiful visual content to support their marketing campaigns. In particular, I strive to champion sustainable brands and businesses to help them spread their message and do more good in the world.

I also love to share my knowledge and experience with aspiring creatives to help them gain confidence behind the camera and become the best photographers they can be.

Creating Visual Stories

01

I work with natural light and real ingredients to create images that feel authentic and tell an engaging story for the viewer. You won't find any ice cream made from mashed potatoes here!

Championing Sustainability

02

Protecting our planet and wildlife is something I feel very strongly about, which is why I love to work with sustainable businesses and help them do more good.

Sharing Knowledge

03

Great photography requires practice, not qualifications. I can help you build a stellar photography portfolio, or teach you the basics to take control of the visual content in your business.

In a Nutshell

some things you might like to know about me

  • I studied psychology and neuroscience at university and worked in a science-technology company for five years.
  • In 2017 I quit my 9-5 job to travel the world. This trip changed my life and I decided not to return to the corporate world and instead pursue my dream of becoming a photographer.
  • I completed my first Food Photography and Styling course at Leith's School of Food and Wine in October 2017.
  • During the pandemic I spent the first eight months of lockdown in Argentina, which is where I started my recipe blog (back then it was called Linda's Healthy Life) and practiced food photography as much as I could. Whilst I didn't have any of my own props or backdrops, I borrowed from my in-laws and focused on developing my knowledge and skillset.
  • In October 2020 the borders reopened and I flew back to the U.K. where I invested in essential photography equipment and props, and started working with clients.
  • I also started sharing more food photography tips on my blog and in June 2021 I made the decision to pivot my business away from posting recipes and towards teaching food photography to aspiring creatives (and of course client work).
  • In 2022 I launched my first online food photography course, a section of digital products and offer one-to-one coaching to fellow photographers.
  • My ideal clients are sustainable food and beverage brands, restaurants and hotels, and travel brands that offer unique experiences in nature.
